The Perfect Skirt Steak - Pan Sauteed

5 MINUTES IS ALL IT TAKES TO HAVE DELICIOUS STEAK DINNER

Oh skirt steak... so affordable, so enjoyable, so easy to make.  This cut of meat is probably in my top 2 for those three great qualities.  Oop, I forgot versatility!  I mean, I like it classic with caramelized onions like my momma used to make.  But skirt steak is easily the favorite cut of meat to add to other dishes like salads.  Man, I love skirt steak.  I think my love, though, is getting in the way now.  No more chatter.  It's time to share.  You go ahead.. you enjoy my skirt steak recipe.  It'll only take you 5 minutes (for reals).    And I ate it last Thursday - remember my "Week in Advance" post?

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 lb skirt steak
1 tsp your favorite steak seasoning (I use this one)
1 tbsp good olive oil
If you don't have steak seasoning, use a combo of these: celery salt, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika

TOOLS REQUIRED:

Skillet

INSTRUCTIONS:

1.

2.
Divide your steak into 2 portions and season both sides with your seasoning.

Coat your pan in oil and turn the heat up to medium-high.  Just before smoking, add your steaks.  Sear 1 minute for rare, 2 for medium-rare.  Flip and sear 1-2 minutes on the other side.

3.
Let the steaks rest for 5 minutes (cover with tinfoil if you plan to let them sit for a bit).  Serve topped with caramelized onions.
